Daddy and his boy

Walks has absolutely loved the past week with William. I always knew Walks would be a great Dad, but I never knew how much he would enjoy spending time with his child. He has been a tremendous help to me and I know how much William will enjoy all the time he gets to spend with his Dad as he gets older. Thank you Walks for all you've done...William and I couldn't do it without you!!!!

9 days old...

It's hard to believe it's already been 9 days since we brought William into the world. It has been unbelievable so far and I can only imagine how much we have to look forward to!
I'm scared to even report, because it might be too early to declare this, but we have a GREAT baby. He sleeps and eats and MAYBE he'll cry when he gets his diaper changed, but usually he is as happy as can be.
He has been sleeping in his crib since the first night we got home. He looks like such a pea in that big crib, but we decided this would be the best for all of us. I don't know that a 9 day old can like something or not, but so far he likes his crib. He goes down, wakes up every 3-4 hours with a little cry, we feed him and he's back to sleep in the crib. What a blessing!!!!
His umbilical cord scab fell off on Monday and he finally got his first real bath yesterday. At first he wasn't so sure, but by the end, he had warmed up to it. Of course he decided to tinkle and burp a "loaded" burp while he was getting his bath, but I figured that was all too convenient...we just re-washed his little body! Here are a few pictures from this event.

Feeling rough

I am so sorry to all of you who have called that I have not called back yet. I just don't feel good and I really don't feel like complaining on the phone to everyone that calls. I could lie and say I'm fine, but honestly, I am VERY uncomfortable. I'm obviously up at 11:30, listening to Walks snore, wishing I was in my own bed instead of the guest bed (which is due to last minute hardwoods that got refinished today in own bedroom). That was not intentional, but when we ripped the carpet out of our bedroom Saturday morning, the surprise was that the original carpet pad was glued to floor. Needless to say, we had to refinish floors to get glue/pad/funk off. My house smells like poly, the dog needs a bath and I need a baby.
I promise I have enjoyed your messages, emails, etc and I will keep you posted if something happens, but in the meantime, I just can't talk to anyone without complaining and let's be honest, who wants to hear that?!
But I'm SO EXCITED to have a new baby soon and to find out WHAT IT IS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love to all of you great friends who care so much, C-line

8 more days

I can't believe my due date is only 8 days away. Time has REALLY flown by, but I very ready to have this baby now. The last 3 days have not been the best- I'm feeling pretty sick, tired, exhausted, full and getting tired of feeling baby movement. I know all of that sounds terrible, but I'm just ready to have baby in my arms! I was driving this morning wishing Baby Milliken was in the back seat--soon enough, I know.
Anyway, enough complaining! I know I've been very slack lately, but really have had nothing to report. I will keep this updated this week if there are any changes, etc. Maybe I'll get another picture or two up before baby comes.

Almost 37 weeks...

So I have 3 weeks and 2 days left and I'm starting to be REALLY ready for Baby Milliken's arrival. I have felt great the whole time, but now this belly is starting to bother me. I know the time will fly by until he or she is born and I'm so excited for that moment! Here are a few 36 1/2 week belly shots. Yes, I'm well aware that I am VERY pregnant looking...

We had such a great time and they really went out of there way to make everything so nice--Thank you Haley, Leslie, Anna, Casey, Sarah Preston and Amanda!!!! Baby Milliken will be so lucky to have all of you in his or her life. I'm so blessed to have such wonderful friends!

Baby Milliken's Nursery

I almost have the all of the nursery...still waiting on the roman shades, but should have those by Monday. Here are pictures of how it is looking so far. I love it!!! And by the way, I still don't know what I'm having, although I've heard people say they think I'm having a boy, but that I'm not telling anybody. I can ASSURE you that I do not know and have LOVED not knowing what we're having. But I can't wait to find out what it is.

Camden Lee Thomas

Congratulations Amanda and Carson who welcomed Camden Lee Thomas into the world today at 12:15 a.m. She weighs 6lbs 13ozs and is 19 3/4 inches long. Amanda says she resembles Charlie some, but is definitely her own little person...with chubby cheeks! :)
We can't wait to meet the newest Thomas addition and congratulate Amanda on making it through the delivery without an epidural (which by the way, she was waiting for one, but dilated too fast).

33 week Baby Update

Scary picture, I know...but this is what I looked like at the end of a LONG day yesterday. I was told that I had to get pictures up on the blog of my pregnant self, so I figured that I needed to get it done while I was at mom and dad's last night.

I have been feeling great, just getting a little anxious now with 7 weeks to go. I will post pictures of my nursery at the end of this week--that is if I get it on Friday like I've been promised.

Sally in the pumpkin patch

Here are a few pictures that Leslie took of Sally in the pumpkin patch a few weeks ago. Isn't she PRESH!!!!!!!

Beach with Moxon family

We got back from Edisto Beach yesterday spending a few days with my aunt, uncle and cousins (mom's brother's family). Pete and Mary Ann made the trip from Virginia, Julie and Rob came from Boston and Dave came from Philadelphia. We had a very relaxing, but fun trip! I don't have any pictures from the trip other than the "Hannah hair cut event". You will see cousin Julie in one of the photos.
We decided that Hannah's thin hair (sort of mullet-like) was getting to long and she needed her first trim. Between Amanda, Mom, Julie and I, we were able to tackle a someone concerned child and we got it cut. She looks precious with her new trim!!!

31 week baby checkup

I'm finally getting around to posting from my check-up last week. Everything was great...baby weighs 4 pounds, his/her heartrate was 156, and it was being VERY active. We went in to have an ultrasound to check to see if the cyst they found @ 18 weeks was still there or not. It was gone...(whatever that means--I know that's a good thing)! They did a 4-D ultrasound (which was not in the plan) because she said there was so much amniotic fluid around baby's face that it was in perfect position to see it clearly. Once I get the pictures scanned in, I will post them. It was so cool to see, although I still don't have a clue what Baby Mill looks like!!! We'll see soon enough! I'm measuring a week ahead, which doesn't necessarily mean that I will have it early, but that it will be a BIG baby when it does come.
I gained a pound...total weight gain: 28 pounds.
More to come in a few weeks on Baby Mill...

I'll update soon!!

31 wees doctor's appointment update to come sometime tomorrow...it's bedtime!!!! Everything is great though :)

Nursery in Progress...

Here are a few pictures of my nursery in progress...
I am waiting on roman shades, table skirt and table topper, and all of the crib bedding. It should be ready in the next 2 weeks--I will update pictures once I get it all in. These are over the crib...mom cross-stitched these for Hunter's room when he was a baby and we had them re-matted and framed. The letters don't mean anything- they just go with the animals.

Oh, and yes I am very aware that this looks like I'm having a boy- but I still do not know. And I'm sure if it's a girl, she won't be deprived of pink!!!!

Baby Update- 29 weeks

I just had a doctors appointment where everything was very uneventful, other than the shot I had to get in my ass! I don't mind needles a bit, but the stuff they injected in me stung like crazy!! Oh well, that's over with until after I have baby Milliken, when they give me another one (which I'm sure won't feel like anything after going through labor!).
I am measuring on track, but we'll see baby's weight, etc at my next appointment when I have my last ultrasound (which will be right at 31 weeks).
Weight gain is getting a little scary at this point...either I need to slow down on the chocolate that lives in my office, or get it in while I have the excuse! Baby Mill's heart rate was 155 today. Sarah Preston said that was probably due to the syrup on the waffles I had for breakfast! It's been going to town in there all morning...it's such a good feeling to feel all of that movement :)
I will try to get another picture up of my belly--not that I particularly enjoy having side shots of me taken, especially with my massive weight gain, but I'll put one up there soon.
I still have no idea what Baby Milliken is and don't think that I be surprised one way or another--for awhile (4 months) I thought boy, then for about 2 months I though girl, then the past month I have gone back to boy...today I don't even have a guess or a feeling. I will have my nursery all in sometime in the next 3 weeks (I hope). I can't wait to see it all put together and in place. I went in the nursery this morning to find that the cat has been sleeping in the crib...there are 2 or 3 little fur ball spots in there already...looks like I need to pull out the aluminum foil and put it in the crib to scare him away. Nelson will probably try to share the crib with Baby when it gets here b/c he is such a loving cat, but I know how scary that can be...I'm sure Nelson's nights of sleeping inside are numbered!
I'll try to get some posts up soon of the other babies in my life, but Aunt C has been a slack visitor/picture taker. I'll try to do better for these last few months :)

Brantley's baby, James

I had to post this picture that I just got from an old friend of mine who lives in Beaufort, Brantley, of her little boy James. I haven't seen any pictures of him since he was less than a month old and he has changed so much. What a sweet face! He is going to be ONE on October 30th...time flies!

Blog Stalker

You know you stalk blogs when your name gets added to a "favorites" link on another blog and the person lives in another state, whom you've never met and have no idea what their name is...
I think I'm supposed to stop leaving comments on other people's blogs, but sometimes, you just have to give your two cents!
Wow...what a weird Saturday night discovery.
BTW, I often wonder how many people stop my blog page that I have never met before...this reminds me of the "6 degrees of separation".--theoretically, everyone is no more than six "steps" away from each person on Earth. Maybe one day I'll actually meet some of these people whose blogs I read.
Again, another weird Saturday night thought. I need to go to bed!

Don't I look so happy having my picture taken?! :)

26 week baby update

I had my glucose test done this morning at the doctor's office and of course I won't know anything until later (that is if they find anything wrong). Let's keep our fingers crossed that I don't have gestational diabetes...I'm not sure how I could live without ice cream for the next 3 months; especially since I have gift certificates to Cold Stone and Baskin Robbins!
Anyway, as far as the baby goes the heart beat was 142 and my belly is measuring 27 weeks. I guess I will report my weight gain...20 pounds (you know I'm not shy). Could be better, could be worse!
I will get either Dad or Walks to take a picture of me tonight so I can show you my belly that is getting a little large!

Happy Birthday to me...

I celebrated my birthday on Friday with family and friends (and lots of children!). Everything was so much fun and mom and dad did a great job with the food and most importantly, THE CAKE!!
Thank you everybody for all of my gifts- everybody was too kind. I got ice cream gift certificates to Cold Stone and Baskin Robbins...do you think my friends know I'm pregnant or what?!?! Baby Milliken and I will put those to good use!
We tried to get a picture of all the children and we succeeded, but I'm not sure how happy they were about it, especially in the second picture.

Hannah's Growing up!!!

We had usual Monday night dinner last night and I was able to take a few pictures of Hannah. She has REALLY grown up and learned so much since the last time I've spent some time with her. She has a pretty big vocabulary and is willing to learn new words as you tell her what things and who people are. Of course, it's not very easy for her to say Aunt C, so I said about 5 other names that could be possibilities and all we could get was a "ku" noise...better than nothing. Grandaddy doesn't come out either...oh well, save the best for last, right?! :)

She actually took a few steps on her own last night and could be walking by next week, but it could be another month. I am lucky enough to get to keep her for tonight for a little while...she's just such a joy to be around--so happy all of the time!!! I love that little girl to pieces!!!!!!!
This is her "say cheese" face...what a hoot!
I love my chair, my Buddy dog, pup pup and even the little crab I'm holding...
